The role

We have some exciting opportunities within our People and Culture team in the role of Business Partner, People & Culture. Reporting to the Vice President, People & Culture, the successful candidates will be accountable developing proactive people strategies focused on talent, leadership and culture to help drive key business priorities. This includes attracting, developing and retaining the right talent, creating strong leadership and building organizational capability and culture to accelerate the business.

A typical day

As a Business Partner, you will work closely with leaders across the organization and will focus on:
• Ensuring that we have the right structure and talent in the right places and that they have the skills needed to deliver to our customers today and into the future
• Focusing on identifying, developing and promoting leaders to create an inclusive, highly engaged workforce that delivers winning results
• Fostering a distinctive culture that delivers the desired customer and employee experience

And be responsible for:
• Partnering with and leveraging expertise from the various P&C centres of expertise (Payroll, Benefits, Disability Management, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Workplace, Learning & Development and Diversity & Inclusion teams) to deliver people focused solutions to the business
• Leveraging insights (i.e. People Pulse, exit surveys, market trends, business results) to identify gaps and opportunities and develop plans to address
• Assessing and calibrating with leaders on the performance and potential of talent to identify talent development needs and build succession plans
• Assessing workforce needs and organizational design to optimize structure and drive business strategy
• Identifying and developing targeted talent pipelines and development plans to ensure we have the right skills in the right places
• Defining roles and ensuring appropriate compensation programs are in place to reward the scope of work and incent the right behaviours

Your skills/experience

• A Bachelors degree in Human Resources or a Business related discipline with a minimum of 10 - 15 years of leadership or human resources experience with a focus on developing or driving people strategies
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with senior leaders and deliver proactive strategies
• Highly motivated, energetic and goal oriented with the ability to work in a fast paced, team environment
• In depth business acumen
• Ability to translate long term objectives, business & people data into actionable initiatives
• Ability to influence without authority at all levels and manage the tension between competing perspectives
• Strong coaching and consulting skills
• Self-starter and able to work with high degree of autonomy
• Ability to thrive in ambiguity and be nimble in a changing environment
• Creative problem solver with strong communication skills
