Shaw Communications has an exciting opportunity for a senior talent and leadership development leader who will create a competitive advantages through the creation and execution of talent and leadership development strategies that build new organizational capabilities required to succeed in the future.

Ideally based in Calgary, Alberta, reporting to the SVP, People and Culture and working very closely with the senior People and Culture leadership team, the successful candidate will be accountable for creating and leading enterprise-wide practices in talent acquisition, leadership development, succession plan design and methodology and learning programs that are strategically linked to delivering on Shaw’s in-year and long term business imperatives.

Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:
• Oversees and leads a national team of 28 dedicated and committed professionals, accountable for bringing out the best in the team to deliver extraordinary results
• Develops Shaw’s talent acquisition strategy, ensuring talent pipelines are created and cultivated to meet future talent needs
• Establishes Shaw’s leadership brand through the creation of leadership capabilities and segmented leadership learning experiences that support the company’s culture imperatives
• Creates a culture where Shaw’s masterful leaders at every level create extraordinary business results by bringing out the best in their people
• Overhauls Shaw’s succession planning program to create a modern, fluid and effective approach that drives development to prepare high potential leaders for future challenges
• Transforms Shaw’s learning programs, ranging from transformational new employee experiences, to new product and continuous learning tools and programs
• Creates a learning framework and culture that makes it easier for employees to build successful careers at Shaw
• Standardizes leadership and employee experiences across Shaw’s two lines of business and corporate shared services

Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
1. Post secondary degree/diploma complemented by at least 8 – 10 years and a proven track record in Talent Management, including Talent Acquistion, Learning & Leadership Development
2. Proven leadership of engaged teams producing breakthrough results
3. Experience in dealing effectively and quickly in a large, complex organization that experiences a fast paced, changing competitive landscape
4. Strong business acumen and the ability to develop talent strategies in service of business outcomes
5. Possesses the capability to develop human capital, be a strategist, be an executor and manager of talent
6. Demonstrates Shaw’s values of being human, caring, fair, generous, adaptive, collaborative and high achieving
