The role

The Supply Chain Analyst, Converged Operations will directly report to the Manager, Converged Projects & Operations, Supply Chain and will be responsible for analyzing various Supply Chain KPIs through the development of data driven insights. The role will leverage and evolve existing technologies and data sources to collect, compile and analyze to build inventory forecasts and replenishment strategy for our Shaw Retail locations across Western Canada.

This person should love thinking about the data needed to identify and measure supply chain metrics to have the right product, in the right place, at the right time to meet consumers needs and wants.

The ideal candidate thrives at delivering solutions to data problems, has an affinity for data and analytics in support of driving both product-level and business decisions and is comfortable working with multiple stakeholders.

A typical day

Responsible for product availability, allocation, and distribution of products to branded retail locations
• Execute promotional and lift analysis to drive appropriate inventory level for retail store replenishment
• Constantly re-adjust key parameters that drive replenishment to improve inventory position and flow
• Work with internal and external stakeholders closely on product level forecasts and flow plans to strategize and improve fill rate and meet retail customer demands
• Manage retail inventory forecasting process, ensuring alignment on Retail KPI’s
• Design and deliver automated report solutions that summarize and transform data from various data sources into understandable, actionable information.
• Develop and improve data mart structures and sales reporting development/delivery processes to improve efficiency, usability, consistency, reliability, and relevance of reports.
• Assess and improve the effectiveness and accuracy of new data structures and data gathering techniques
• Develop and integrate custom data models from various sources to apply to data sets
• Collect and converge requirements from end users; translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Collaborate with sales leader to identify opportunities to apply BI insights to various areas of the organization.
• Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes
• Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy
• Understand and remain current on Shaw product offerings, promotions, and associated order entry / order management procedures.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to support a smooth new product and/or store launch
• Possess the “roll-up-your sleeves” attitude and strong personal ownership of work needed to be successful

Your skills/experience

• 1-3 years creating automated reports, using advanced techniques with various systems and tools, and with emphasis on efficient, high quality code and identification/mitigation of data integrity problems.
• 1-3 years and a solid understanding of SQL, and other DB constructs including stored procedures, functions, views and execution plans. Advanced knowledge of code optimization, including development/coding best practices.
• 1-3 years, a solid understanding, and demonstrated ability to apply Data Warehouse and Data Modeling methodologies into practice. With a focus on the ability to understand the underlying data sources and translating that knowledge into mapping documents and requirements for ETL developers.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills for coordinating across teams
• Experience acting as a mentor to peers, providing guidance on technical solutions, critical thinking, and storytelling via data - relating the data (‘What’ and ‘When’) to the ‘Why’ and ‘How’ parts of our business.
• Hands on experience developing reports MicroStrategy, PowerBI etc.
• Demonstrated business acumen. Ability to obtain essential information about a situation, focus on the key objectives, recognize the relevant options available, select an appropriate course of action and set in motion a plan to “get the job done”.
• Have a track record of delivering outputs that set the bar for quality, delivering complete solutions which are thoughtful, forward thinking (considering future impacts) and follows all internal processes perfectly.
• Ability to communicate with technical teams as well as business users.
• Demonstrated ability to build strong, cooperative intradepartmental and interdepartmental relationships.
• Consistently able to work under pressure, multi-task and meet challenging deadlines, all while focusing on quality.
• Team player with strong, proactive, communication skills.
• A positive “can do” attitude that will enable you to deal with challenging situations with integrity, empathy, and sincerity.
• Excellent relationship building, interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills required.

This position requires the successful completion of a criminal background check.

• This role has the ability to be based in Toronto (Queens Quay & York St), Calgary (Shaw Court, 6th St SW & 3rd Ave SW or Vancouver (Shaw Tower, W Cordova St & Thurlow St), but will be working from home during the pandemic until able to safely return to the office.
