The role

As the Director, Sales & Marketing for our Satellite Division, you will report to the VP, Shaw Direct & Major Accounts and be responsible for the overall Sales & Marketing strategy for Shaw Direct Satellite, including all inbound/outbound sales channel operations and activity. This is an integral role in the national telecom marketplace and is an exciting and engaging opportunity.

A typical day

• Lead and support the development of our Satellite sales division by coaching, mentoring, leading and engaging both Sales and Operations teams
• Work with and support our multi-channel sales teams including inbound and outbound call-center sales, delivering best-in-class customer experience in our day to day interactions
• Develop and implement marketing and promotional strategies, designed to drive added sales volume across all sales channels
• Budget, forecast, and deliver on sales volume, quarterly revenue, and expense targets by channel – including Voice, Digital, and Retail/Partner channels
• Optimize profitability and tenure of new customer acquisitions
• Evolve and transform our digital sales and marketing platforms

Your skills/experience

• Post-secondary education in Business or related field
• A minimum of 7 years sales and /or management experience leading multiple sales teams with both direct and indirect lines of reporting
• 5+ Years’ experience in strategic marketing in addition to sales management experience
• Telecommunications or technology experience considered a strong asset; similarly, experience in a subscription-based service would also be considered transferable
• Operations experience in a call-center environment would be considered highly beneficial
• Strong business acumen; able to identify innovative and transformative marketing activities that will drive business results while simultaneously driving the performance of sales teams
• Ability to negotiate with and influence others, internally and externally, including senior executives within the company, and external vendors/regulators
• Strong sense of teamwork and the ability to partner with other leaders and lead cross-functional initiatives
