The role

The culture of Shaw is driven by our people, making Shaw one of the best places to begin a new career or expand on an existing one. We have an exciting opportunity for a Manager, Small and Medium Business Sales in our Vancouver location.

The successful candidate will be accountable for leading a team of individuals in small and medium business sales. Based in Vancouver, BC this position will report to the Regional Director, Business Sales SMB. Success will be measured by the candidate’s ability to drive business results across all direct reports while developing Shaw’s next generation of leaders.

The successful candidate will lead a team of highly performing sales agents in driving business growth. In addition they will be accountable to providing feedback on the efficacy of sales process, products and operational execution.

A typical day

• Maximize revenue generating unit and revenue growth with new and existing customers.
• Implement acquisition and on-boarding frameworks in collaboration with training leaders.
• Apply effective and continuous performance management practices with individual contributors and leaders.
• Provide feedback on efficacy of sales practice and process.
• Drive positive customer experience best practices with every individual contributor.
• Effectively collaborate with all regional sales channels.
• Customer and opportunity segmentation between sales channels.
• Define, develop and deploy sales plans with teams from all departments
• Resolve escalated customer issues
• Direct development of staff, including training, performance assessment, coaching and administration of human resource practices and procedures to ensure we meet the highest performance standards and live the company values
• Various other duties as required

Your skills/experience

• 3-7 years Supervisory or Management experience
• A proven track record of management success in a sales and service environment
• Proven ability to achieve sales and service targets on a consistent basis
• Ability to demonstrate attentiveness to the financial requirements of the company
• Team player with the ability to direct teams to achieve superior performance in all areas; promote team success through individual achievements
• Able to deal effectively and quickly with change and assist team members in adapting to a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
• Able to determine root causes of issues quickly and implement plans to correct areas of concern
• A positive, “can-do” attitude and customer focused approach that will enable you to deal with challenging situations with integrity, empathy and sincerity
