We have an exciting new opportunity for a Specialist, Lean & Continuous Improvement, based out of Calgary reporting to the Manager, Value Creation, Supply Chain. This role will focus on Leaning out and improving business processes within Supply Chain Strategic Sourcing. You will reduce waste and drive standardization, reduce non-value-add activity, increase productivity & employee engagement, accelerate throughput and achieve high levels of quality while improving the Customer experience. The ideal candidate ensures high productivity, low cycle times, reduced cost and high quality while maintaining availability.
• Lead Lean and other transactional process improvement projects, delivering significant quantifiable operational improvements and financial benefits. • Teach and deploy Lean and other process improvement tools and methods (Kaizen, 5S, PDCA, DMAIC, Value Stream Map, SIPOC, Process Flows, P-FMEA, Ishikawa/Fishbone Diagram, etc).• Partner with SC Leadership to assess current processes and identify process improvement opportunities.• Communicate with and work with leadership and staff in leading process change and value of continuous process improvement. • Quantify potential and actual benefits in terms of quality, cost and delivery.• Developing a centralized reporting / measurement process. • Prepare summaries and reports on work activities & metrics. • Support and develop others through training, coaching, facilitating workshops and skills transfer.
• Experience leading and delivering change and improvement projects in Warehousing environments.• Strong creative problem-solving skills, and an aptitude for dealing with ambiguity. • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively and influence at all levels of the organization.• Ability to disassociate past practices and visualize and implement change along with the team in the face of obstacles. • Stakeholder engagement at all levels.• Detail-oriented approach to issue identification and resolution.• Ability to self-motivate, multi task, and prioritize work. • Capable of working effectively and enthusiastically as a team player. • Objective, open-minded agent of change, and an out-of-the-box thinker. • Developing risk assessments and verification or validation plans for process changes. • Strong capabilities in MS Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint. Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management or equivalent combination of education and experience is an asset. • Lean Yellow, Green or Black Belt is mandatory.• Experience teaching/ coaching Lean concepts and Creative Problem-Solving techniques. • Background leading at least 2 substantial Lean deployments or improvement projects• Understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes including is an asset
