The role

Reporting to the Manager, SMB Sales, the Business Sales Consultant sells into the small/medium business space. This exciting sales opportunity is diverse and varies from day to day. Some days you may be hunting for and building your essential sales leads, other days you may be meeting with prospects and clients at their office, or you may be collaborating with team members to design and implement sales and marketing strategies. You could also find yourself participating in a business networking event or representing Shaw Business at a trade show. You’ll be empowered to manage your day as you see fit, knowing you have the full support of your leader and teammates to help you be successful.

A typical day

• Sales Prospecting including cold calling, door knocking and networking for new business
• Establish and maintain lasting, positive relationships with Business owners, managers and/or IT decision makers through personal contact and outstanding customer service
• Facilitate customer meetings and sales presentations in front of business owners and key decision makers
• Sell our full suite of voice, data and internet products to small and medium businesses
• Identify and analyze our clients’ business requirements, propose potential solutions, negotiate and close new business revenue
• Provide daily, weekly and monthly sales reporting while ensuring that their CRM (Salesforce) accurately reflects all opportunity management activities

Your skills/experience

• 3-5 years of Business to Business selling experience is required, with experience in telecommunications or a related field is an asset
• Post-secondary education in business administration, commerce or related technical field is preferred but not required
• Demonstrated ability in cold calling, door knocking and networking for new business
• Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding assigned sales objectives
• Driven, self-motivated, and results oriented – the ideal candidate thrives in a flexible, entrepreneurial environment and can work independently or collaborate with the team
• Ability to develop sophisticated technical proposals and present to all levels in clients’ organization
• Strong digital literacy, intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel
• A positive “can do” demeanor and customer focused approach that will enable you to deal with challenging situations with integrity, empathy, and sincerity
• Salesforce experience is an asset
• A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle available for work is required
