The role

As a Windows Infrastructure Analyst, you will support Shaw and Freedom’s Microsoft environment, through standard ITSM processes. Actively engaging on Service Requests, Incidents, Changes and Problems that are escalated to the team through the ServiceNow Platform. You will be responsible for managing all Microsoft windows servers and resources, as well as support of Office 365 and the Azure environment. The right person for this role will be able to provide valuable input to the team based on strong technical expertise and an understanding of industry best practices, keeping up with technology trends and the speed of change across the Microsoft Windows landscape.

A typical day

A typical day includes building and managing servers across the lifecycle, (patching, deployments, and upgrades) as well as providing support for any integrated services (i.e. Active Directory, ADFS, SSO etc.). As projects come up through the year, this role will be asked to work with other technical teams at Shaw, as a Microsoft Team representative and subject matter expert. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required in order to effectively interact with end users, team members, other groups and in working with vendors. As this role serves as an escalation point for other support teams, strong capabilities in troubleshooting, and an ability to work calmly with others on what can sometimes be complex application issues, is a must.

Your skills/experience

A core foundational knowledge and 5-7 years of experience with the following technologies is a must:
• Account and Access Management - Users and Groups, OU’s, GPO’s
• Directory Management - AD, Physical/Logical structure, DHCP, DNS
• Certificate Services (PKI)
• Monitoring and Automation - SCOM, Runbooks, PowerShell
• Microsoft Office 365, Exchange, Outlook, Calendars, Teams, Skype, SharePoint
• Patching, Automation and Endpoint Management - SCCM, Intune

Knowledge and a keen interest in the following areas would also be favorable:
• Microsoft Security Principles - ATP, BitLocker, MFA and IDM
• Azure Automation, Federation Services (ADFS/Azure), Azure Application Proxy
• Knowledge in other supporting technologies – VMWare, Storage, Cisco Iron Port

The right person for this role will show:
• Strong competence in problem resolution
• A positive, “can-do” attitude and customer focused approach
• The ability to consistently follow corporate problem and change management policies and procedures

Other details

• This position requires the successful completion of a criminal and credit background check
• As a condition of employment, all new employees will be required to provide proof of full vaccination with a federally approved COVID-19 vaccine (or proof of a valid exemption)
• The successful applicant will be hired in any Shaw or Freedom location based in Toronto.
