The role

As an Access Specialist you will assist community member to create local programming for the community channel within a specific geographic footprint. You will receive and evaluate community requests, liaising with the requestors to determine level of commitment. It will be your responsibility to meet the commitment to the community requestor and you will utilize your own diverse technical skillset to assist community members as needed. The Access Specialist will be responsible to ensure access programs are received and scheduled to broadcast in their applicable communities.

You will also facilitate outreach within your communities in variety of ways such as attending a local event, visiting a club/school to make a presentation and/or through written communication.

We are hiring for this position in Kelowna, Prince George, and Victoria.

A typical day

This role is diverse and varies day to day. Depending on the project with your various community requestors, you may find yourself simply coordinating access to an ftp site to receive programming or working figure out what equipment is needed for an upcoming production. On other days, you may find yourself researching content creators in your markets who could be interested to expand their audience with our linear channel. As the role supports multiple communities, travel could be required on any given day and you may find yourself visiting a hobby club who is interested in the opportunities we provide to share their passion with their community.

Your skills/experience

• Degree/diploma in Television Production with 3+ year’s work experience in a broadcast television environment.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite.
• 3+ years’ experience with ENG and studio productions from pre-production to post.
• Proficient with Panasonic P2 and GH5
• Willingness to travel and work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and statutory holidays
• People person with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with various social media platforms.
• Goal-oriented Customer and Community Focused Team Player with a Positive, “Can-Do” Attitude and the ability to consistently apply the values of Integrity, Accountability and Balance.

• This position requires the successful completion of a criminal background check
