The role

Shaw Business, a Shaw Communications Inc. company, has an exciting opportunity for a Carrier Services Advisor located in our Calgary office! Reporting to the Manger, Carrier Services, the successful candidate will be accountable for the strategic optimization, implementation, and management of third-party telecommunications services in support of the group of Shaw Companies!

A typical day

• Drive an optimized Carrier cost base by auditing existing services, implementing alternative designs, leading effective negotiations, and creating industry leading models for supporting Shaw products
• Strategically quote, order, and cancel services in support of the data/video network requirements for the Shaw group of companies
• Develop Data-Driven Decision Making strategies using industry leading tools
• Build relationships with 3rd parties in alignment with our strategic goals
• Ensure third-party networks lead the industry in creating an outstanding customer experience

Your skills/experience

• 5+ Years of telecommunication industry experience
• Post-secondary education in a related field
• In-depth knowledge of the technical design and underlying commercial agreements of telecom carrier networks
• Experience building Data-Driven Decision-making models using industry leading tools is an asset
• Self-starter capable of multitasking in a fast paced, team environment
• Strong eye for business, interpersonal, organizational and presentation skills
• Phenomenal teammate with excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal
• A positive, “can-do” demeanor and customer focused approach that will enable you to deal with challenging situations with integrity, empathy, and sincerity

• Location: Work From Home, preference (but not required): Calgary
• This position requires the successful completion of a criminal background check
• As a condition of employment, all new employees will be required to provide proof of full vaccination with a federally approved COVID-19 vaccine (or proof of a valid exemption)
