The role

The Southern Alberta Plant Operations Team is currently seeking a Project Coordinator to join their group. The successful candidate will be accountable for supporting our Southern Alberta Plant Technicians and local/regional leadership. Reporting to Supervisor, Plant, Field Operations, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting day to day operational tasks and coordinating/overseeing various departmental projects.

A typical day

• Coordinate and execute multiple projects from concept through to completion.
• Maintain accurate real time project database records for progress reporting and financial tracking of projects.
• Co-ordinate with other external project participants such as developers, contractors, builders, and utility companies.
• Build and manage relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain a high level of transparency with key stakeholders into project timelines, risks, and successes.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to exceptional customer experience for internal and external stakeholders.
• Proactively identify, address and resolve issues before they occur.
• Assist in establishing, monitoring and recommending changes to departmental guidelines to improve efficiencies.
• Support field requests and investigations.
• Create and maintain schedules.
• Ordering various material and tools for internal/external stakeholders.
• Set up and organize meetings.
• Promote a positive image of Shaw, our products and services.

Your skills/experience

• Quick learner with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Friendly and professional demeanor with proven customer service skills.
• Strong abilities with software applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Planning, network infrastructure and construction knowledge is an asset.
• Experience with CBS, START, Service Now, Nimble This and Spatial (internal programs) is an asset.
• Adaptive and quick learner with strong problem-solving skills, excellent organizational abilities, attention to detail, ability to multi-task and prioritization skills.
• Highly motivated with the ability to work well within a team environment, developing relationships across Shaw in a collaborative and trusted spirit.
• Ability to identify issues and make difficult decisions, escalating when required.
• Committed to personal and team excellence and ability to operate in a dynamic and constantly changing environment.

  • This position requires the successful completion of a criminal (and credit) background check
