The role

• As a Lean and Continuous Improvement Coordinator you will actively seek CI opportunities and define optimal solutions, working closely with Supply Chain stakeholders and leadership
• Generate added value through the principles of continuous improvement and integrate best practices
• Build and maintain variable-productivity standards, including the steps involved in conducting time-motion studies, development of best working methods, technical documentation and stakeholder training
• Lead and facilitate Value Steam Mapping (VSM), 5S+ and Standard Work events, structured problem-solving events, Kaizen Events leveraging other Lean tools as needed.
• Support projects from start to finish and introduce a feasibility and cost-effectiveness analysis, as well as appropriate controls, during and after implementation of the project
• Collaborate with continuous improvement experts from other regions to achieve improvement goals across the national distribution network
• Document and map key processes as well as develop process flow diagrams
• Influence and collaborate with multiple key internal stakeholders by establishing and maintaining active relationships with leaders in the areas of Supply Chain, Demand Management and Planning
• Performs assessments, root cause analysis, strategic business analysis, and project planning to prioritize and initiate improvement projects, both internally and in support of other departments.
• Share and promote performance improvement methodologies with other employees and managers to develop skillsets and facilitate a continuous improvement culture

A typical day

• Lead departmental Lean and Continuous Improvement kaizens/projects delivering significant quantifiable operational improvements and financial benefits
• Actively lead cross-functional kaizen/project teams in the application of Lean tools and techniques as well as 6 Sigma methodologies
• Collaborate with leaders across the departments to identify key metrics, activities and initiatives that will improve their overall process performance
• Lead and/or participate in innovative efforts to identify and reduce/eliminate waste in departmental processes, and improve cycle times
• Serve as an active example to others on how to identify opportunities within existing processes and suggest best practices to leverage as new processes are being implemented
• Identify reinforcement and sustainment activities to encourage a culture of continuous improvement and innovation

Your skills/experience

• Experience with Lean & Six Sigma methodologies with proven performance improvement history
• High degree of tenacity, self-motivation, and innovation
• Excellent analytical skills to gather and analyze/synthesize data, confirming its accuracy and adequacy
