The role

We have an exciting opportunity for Advisor, TOPS Enablement reporting to the Manager, TOPS Enablement (Technology, Operations, Product, and Supply Chain). In this role, you will be working alongside a group of people who are passionate about organizational change management, analytics and insights.

We are living in a time of unprecedented change – driven by factors inside and outside Shaw. Where there is change, there is opportunity. This role is responsible for guiding our Technology, Operations and Strategic Sourcing (TOPS) department through environmental shifts and enabling employees through experiences that support our growth, profitability, and customer and employee satisfaction.

This dynamic role will not only help strengthen synergies with multiple business divisions, but will also be a powerful voice in how we; develop an engagement model for industry partnerships that are producing thought-leading content, building Enablement capabilities and Centre of Excellence (COE) within TOPS and evolving the use of data to drive decision making across the enablement space as well our internal TOPS Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

This means you will increase project success by leading organizational change management on high priority projects, facilitating engagement in an OCM COE by project resources and change-makers across TOPS to encourage the use of OCM best practices in their projects, and leading continuous enhancement of Shaw’s OCM certificate program. You will also increase change resilience for our employees who are experiencing change at an accelerating pace through strategies that reduce stress, build capabilities, and create excitement for future changes.

You’ll build strong relationships with leaders at every level to support more engagement and utilization of our internal services, tools and best practices. Some of these leaders will be natural allies and some will need to see tangible benefit that your team can bring to the table.

You will work with purpose and make data-driven decisions to achieve business goals. You will create strong relationships with stakeholders across TOPS to move enablement goals forward. You’ll need to pivot quickly in acting on ever-changing projects and department priorities.

This role is highly collaborative, working with your teammates in TOPS Communications, leadership across TOPS, internal partners who also support change, end-user groups to ensure your team’s efforts are effective, and more.

A typical day

• Work alongside a team of organizational change management experts and an insight analyst to grow change management across TOPS and provide quality and strategic OCM services on priority projects
• Increase benefits realization and business Return on Investment (ROI) of TOPS projects, especially those relying on adoption for success, by increasing executive buy-in, providing excellent OCM consulting services, increasing engagement in OCM COE by project resources in TOPS, and embedding OCM best practices into projects
• Increase change resilience of TOPS workforce
• Identify opportunities for improvement of OCM using metrics and move related recommendations forward
• Partner with TOPS Communications team to build a consistent tiered services model of Communications and OCM services
• Understands environmental and internal issues and how they affect TOPS

Your skills/experience

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Business, Psychology, Communications, Journalism)
• 3 years of experience in change management, project management or organizational development
• Clear, creative and strategic thinker
• Solid written, oral and visual communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively across divisions and different levels (including executives) and gain alignment from stakeholders with various perspectives on strategic goals
• Analytical mind and ability to connect change, human behaviour, and the resulting business outcomes
• Demonstrated ability to work calmly and maintain good judgement in fast-faced, high-stress environments
• Ability to tell timely and engaging stories of learnings from failure and celebrating success relating to people readiness and positive business results
• Ability to tell educational narratives built from success metrics
• Understand data and can create insights to shift behaviors and support business direction
• PROSCI certification or CCMP™ accreditation would be an asset
