The role

Shaw Communications is currently seeking a Technical Lead (Order Entry & Management), to join our Business Management Applications team. In this role you will work closely with stakeholders and the vendor technical team to ensure delivery of business and technology outcomes. As well as be responsible for technical risk identification, development of risk mitigation and contingency plans. The successful candidate should be a team player with a keen eye for detail and problem-solving skills.

A typical day

• Lead meetings to clarify requirements, brainstorm solution details, define NFRs, etc.
• Capture the outcome in Jira ideas/stories and pass them over to vendor implementation team.
• Review, challenge and approve story’s final design, estimates, implementation details and documentation provided by vendor.
• Support QA team by providing technical expertise and required clarifications.
• Complete domain intake funnel review and collaborate in backlog prioritization
• Complete and approve detailed designs of overarching technology solutions
• Guide the maturity of the domain Continuous Delivery pipeline
• Lead continuous technical improvement in the domain space
• Identify technical needs for the domain, help build technical roadmap and manage technical department.

Your skills/experience

• At least 3 years of technical lead experience
• Good understanding of BSS (Business Support System) functional domain: Product Catalog, CPQ, Order Capture, Order Management, etc.
• Strong grasp of programming languages; in one or more: Java, C#, Python, Ruby, JavaScript
• Good experience with modern databases: Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL
• Strong English and communication skills

Bonus skills
• Knowledge/experience in building CI/CD pipelines
• DevOps and Cloud technologies and tools like Ansible, Jenkins, OpenShift, Kubernetes, etc.
• Knowledge/experience in development of systems integration using different technologies
• Experience with middleware platforms like Weblogic or JBoss.
• TMForum frameworks and the industry knowledge

Other details

• This position requires the successful completion of a criminal and credit background check.
• This role is location-specific: Calgary however there is option to work from home some days of week.
