The role

As a Technical Lead, you will engages Business Stakeholders & IT teams to plan, elicit, analyze, document, and validate system requirements that meet business needs. The role leverages an analytical approach and their technical skills to understand business problems/requirements, as well as the capabilities of the technology, and proposes a recommended solution for new project or for enhancements to the existing applications.

A typical day

• Be the expert in Retail Applications, providing technical leadership in the domain
• Identify, recommend, prioritize, and participate in system enhancements/defect fixes required to the system
• Routinely advise on-site or vendor developers/implementation teams on SDLC components
• Work closely with 3rd party vendor to create and deploy releases
• Conduct regular code / SDLC process reviews
• Routinely deal with and resolve technical issues
• Aid in the development of architectural framework and design
• Be responsible for the quality of deliverables
• Take the lead in resolving issues observed in production and partner with other teams to put pro-active monitoring in place
• Communicate status and escalate issues to stakeholders
• Act as liaison with various groups including architecture, vendors, other domain, and project teams
• Develop, maintain, and monitor the continuous delivery pipeline for the systems in the domain
• Evaluate and introduce new tools and techniques to the development team
• Proactively identify areas for improvement, seek solutions and make recommendations
• Support vendor partners in adoption of DevOps, Agile/Lean methodologies
• Lead initiatives & acts as a change agent (embraces change and helps other to embrace it)
• Foster a spirit of creative collaboration by giving team members a common focus
• Create and maintain applicable documentation pertaining to initiatives, as required
• Support business teams during testing cycle as well as assist in resolution of any applicable defects discovered

Your skills/experience

• You’re able to speak comfortably and with credibility in both business and technical languages
• You have exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills
• You painlessly overcome obstacles while respecting others’ points of view and positions
• You can work independently, and can prioritize and meet tight deadlines
• You have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business and technical challenges
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field
• A background / experience in software development and programming
• Previous experience with Retail systems such as Activation portals, Logistics, Point of Sale is an asset
• Proven record of accomplishments in enterprise level projects
