The role

As a Learning Specialist, you will design, develop, deliver, & evaluate enterprise learning programs and solutions for Shaw. You are an experienced learning professional, who is an innovative, systems-thinker. You solve business problems by building modern, proactive, data-driven content that builds skills across Shaw. In this role, you will reinforce newly established ways of working with a strong focus on high quality, enterprise wide instructional design. You will socialize, operationalize, and integrate learning programs against clear KPIs and metrics.

This position reports into the Team Lead, Learning & Technology, and is a 12 month temporary role.

A typical day

This role is responsible to measurably deliver enterprise-wide learning that drives quality results, on time & on budget. The enterprise-wide portfolio includes: Health & Safety, Compliance, Legal, Security, Diversity & Inclusion, Well-being, Talent Development, and Onboarding. Specifically, you will:

• Produce relevant, engaging learning solutions for enterprise audience of 10 000
• Apply extensive, evolving instructional design skill to deliver a connected learner experience
• Collaborate tightly with your enterprise Learning & Development team mates to develop top notch content for large audiences
• Partner with key stakeholders (HR Ops, Communications, etc.) to deliver a seamless experience including external vendors
• Prepare your content for QA, testing, and launch inside of an integrated system of learning technologies
• Measure and drive metrics, key performance indicators, and outcomes
• Collect feedback and identify continuous improvement initiatives
• Use data driven decisions to inform design and improvement
• Manage various projects and coordinate learning logistics while hitting all your deadlines
• Contribute to and execute on the learning strategy which are aligned to annual business goals and projects
• Consult and align to the People & Culture and Organization’s strategy
• Work in a fast-paced, challenging work environment in support of People & Culture

Your skills/experience

o Curiosity and Collaboration are both highly valued by you
o Senior level experience in developing learning solutions in a variety of delivery methods (virtual, hands-on/experiential, instructor led, remote classroom, synchronous/asynchronous)
• Post-secondary education in adult learning, learning design, learning & development OR equivalent combination of skills and experience
• 7+ years experience in the learning and development industry with a focus on content creation in an agile enterprise role
o Proven ability to create digital course content with Articulate 360 | Storyline & Rise, HTML5
o Proven ability to write powerful knowledge assessments which focus on a change in behavior
o Proven ability to create videos using software such as Vyond, Adobe Premiere, After Effects & Audition,
o Familiar with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Learning Experience Systems (LXP).
o Experience with ServiceNow Management, and PowerBI are considered assets.
o Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple learning projects effectively with rapidly changing priorities for a variety of audiences (leaders & employees).
o Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to effectively navigate large organizations and manage relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, (internal clients, subject matter experts, internal and external partners)

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; experience within a business transformation is preferred
• Possession of excellent skill level in instructional design, project management, adult learning, and creative problem-solving
• Ability to incorporate creative, resourceful approaches into plans
