The role

Reporting to the Manager, SMB Sales, the Business Sales Consultant role sells into the small/medium business market. This exciting outside B2B sales opportunity is diverse and varies from day to day. Some days you may be prospecting for and qualifying your essential sales leads, other days you may be meeting with prospects and clients at their office while facilitating business meetings and sales presentations. You may find yourself participating in a business networking event or representing Shaw Business at a trade show. You’ll be empowered to manage your day as you see fit, knowing you have the full support of your leader and teammates to help you be successful!

A typical day

• Creating sales funnel opportunities. Hunting for and qualifying new sales leads
• Sell our full suite of voice, data and internet products to small and medium businesses
• Use your entrepreneurial mindset to identify and pursue new sales opportunities.
• Negotiate sales contracts, and close new business deals
• Identify and analyze our clients’ business requirements, propose potential solutions,
• Establish and maintain strong and trusting relationships with Business owners, managers and/or IT decision makers through personal contact and superior customer service
• Within Shaw Communications, Coordinate the activities between planning, operations, and other regions to support the implementation of local and national opportunities
• Consistently meet or exceed assigned sales objectives for Shaw Business services both contracted and uncontracted
• Keep Salesforce CRM up to date and run sales reporting as well as detailed analysis of sales funnel

Your skills/experience

• 3-5 years of Business to Business selling experience is required
• Ability to thrive in a sales environment by exceeding sales targets
• Demonstrated success and ability in prospecting activities such as cold calling, door knocking and networking for new business
• Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding assigned sales objectives
• A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle that is available for work is required
• Driven, self-motivated, and results oriented – the ideal candidate thrives in a flexible, entrepreneurial environment and can work independently or collaborate with the team
• Ability to develop sophisticated technical proposals and present to all levels in a client’s organization
• Strong digital literacy, intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel
• Salesforce experience is an asset
• Experience in telecommunications or a related field is an asset
• Post-secondary education in business administration, commerce or related technical field is preferred

• This position requires the successful completion of a criminal and credit background check
• A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle that is available for work is required
