Career Opportunity: Producer (Shaw TV)
We have an exciting opportunity for a Producer working in our Saskatoon location. Reporting to the Supervisor, Programming, the successful candidate will be accountable for producing local television programming.

Accountabilities:
• Work with hosts and producers to create Shaw TV programming
• Work with community access groups and volunteers
• Plan and coordinate special programming segments
• Coordinate and create sponsorship segments, working with sales team and clients.
• Ability to work on program scheduling, trafficking and compiling CRTC data.
• Network within the community by attending events, developing relationships with local agents, publicists, charities, businesses and talent
• Promote the program through various avenues, including cross-promotions with other media outlets
• Keep an up-to-date database of contacts
• Promote and represent Shaw in a positive manner
• Various other duties as needed

Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
• Degree/diploma in Broadcast Television or equivalent complemented by 1-2 years’ work experience in a broadcast television environment
• An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will also be considered
• Ability to grasp complex stories and produce the stories in a clear, concise manner
• Knowledge of Panasonic cameras and Final Cut Pro editing technologies would be an asset
• Ability to quickly learn and master PC-based scheduling software
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Goal-oriented, motivated, with the ability to work under minimal supervision
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and statutory holidays
• Maintain a valid driver’s license and must provide a driver’s abstract annually
• A positive, “can-do” attitude and customer focused approach that will enable you to deal with challenging situations with integrity, empathy and sincerity.
• Familiarity with social media is also an asset.
